Growing Up Apart

You'd cry over the memories
The lanes passed by.
The movies watched together.
The songs
The climb together.
The everything.
And everything breaks down,
Oneday.
Gradually.
You feel it deep within, helplessly.

Years down the lane
The same song
The same movie
You still smile rivers
Hoping you'd be all together
But life is temporary.
And so are the people in them.
Even though you expected it to sink in
Between these years
You then realize it never could sink it.
It's the same old you.
But different others.

And that's when you know.
What it is to be Constant
Amidst the Variable.
